Understanding Galaxy S25 Ultra charging
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra reaches 45W only when the charger, the cable and the phone agree on the same fast-charging standard. An old USB-A cube or a cheap gas-station charger falls back to about 5W, which can make a full charge take three hours or more.
Samsung phones charge in fixed steps: about 15W on a regular USB-C PD charger, 25W on a PPS charger, and 45W only on a PPS charger rated 5 A used with a 5 A (E-marked) cable.
Do you need a special cable?
Yes for 45W. Use a 5 A (E-marked) USB-C to USB-C cable. A normal 3 A cable limits the phone to 25W.Check yours with our USB-C cable checker.
Test your charging
Compare other chargers with the charger compatibility checker. If charging keeps disconnecting, run the full phone diagnostic to test the charging port, and remove lint from the port with a wooden toothpick.
