About MxMob

MxMob builds free, fast and private web tools that help people check phone hardware, understand charging, and buy the right accessories, all without installing an app.

Why we built MxMob

Millions of Americans buy and sell used phones every year on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, eBay and Swappa. Most of those deals happen in a parking lot or a coffee shop, with a few minutes to decide whether a phone is worth the asking price. Built-in tools like Samsung Members only cover one brand, and diagnostic apps take time to install on a phone you don't own yet.

So we built a diagnostic that opens in any browser, on any phone. Tap Test all, and in about five minutes you know whether the screen, touch panel, speakers, microphone, cameras, sensors, GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, battery, charging port and buttons actually work.

The second problem we solve is charging confusion. USB Power Delivery, PPS, Qi2 and MagSafe all promise "fast charging", yet the wrong brick or cable can quietly cut your charging speed in half. How our tests work

  • Real measurements, not guesses. Wherever the browser can reach a component, we read it directly: touch coverage, simultaneous touch points, accelerometer and gyroscope readings, compass heading, GPS accuracy, download speed, battery and charging state, and the power button's screen-off event.
  • Honest guided checks. Some components, like the proximity sensor or earpiece, can't be reached by any website. For those we give clear step-by-step instructions instead of pretending to test them.
  • Private by design. Camera, microphone, location and biometric tests run on your device. Nothing is uploaded. Read our Privacy Policy.
  • Built for the phones people actually use. Every tool is designed for current iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel models in Safari, Chrome and Samsung Internet, and we update them as browsers add new capabilities.

What we offer

Editorial & Testing Methodology

To provide reliable diagnostics without requiring native apps, MxMob is engineered strictly against open web standards (W3C, WHATWG) and official hardware specifications:

  • W3C Web Standards: Hardware checks utilize native browser interfaces including the Web Audio API for frequency calibration and channel separation, MediaDevices API for camera lens inspection, DeviceOrientation/Motion for 3-axis gyro and accelerometer telemetry, and WebAuthn for biometric sensor readiness.
  • Verified Charging Data: Our charging compatibility database is compiled from published USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) USB-PD 3.0/3.1 and PPS specifications, alongside verified manufacturer electrical ratings (Apple, Samsung, Google).
  • Editorial independence: Test results come from your own device, and charger and accessory suggestions follow connector type, wattage and physical fit. No brand pays to be recommended or to change a result.
  • Data minimization: Camera, microphone and sensor data stay in your browser and are discarded when you close the tab. The network speed test sends test data to our server to time it, and we count anonymous page and test usage, as described in the Privacy Policy.

How MxMob makes money

Every diagnostic tool is free. Our one paid product is Live Remote Inspection, self-serve software sold as a one-time payment per device, with orders processed by our reseller Lemon Squeezy (see the refund policy). We also cover our costs with ads from Google AdSense and commissions from the Amazon Associates Program when you buy through our links, at no extra cost to you. Who runs MxMob

MxMob was founded and is run by Ismail Farooq, Founder & CEO, from Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Ismail builds and maintains the tests, writes the guides, and reads the feedback sent from the end of each diagnostic. When a test gives a wrong result on a particular phone or browser, that feedback is usually how it gets fixed. Every change is listed in the changelog. MxMob is a small, independent project. It isn't affiliated with Apple, Samsung, Google or any other phone maker; brand names are used only to describe which devices a test or guide applies to.
