Every test, fix and change a visitor would notice, newest first. Many fixes start with feedback sent from the end of a diagnostic, so if a test gets something wrong on your device, let us know.
- 23 more languages: Amharic, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Burmese, Catalan, Estonian, Georgian, Gujarati, Kannada, Kazakh, Khmer, Latvian, Lithuanian, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Serbian, Sinhala, Slovenian, Swahili, Telugu and Uzbek, each with the home page, the iPhone buying guide and translated mic, camera, dead pixel and touch screen tests. MxMob now speaks 61 languages, counting English.
- Live Remote Inspection now has its own page in every language (for example /es/inspect), and the seller’s screens, including the mirror, speaker, IMEI and photo checks, open in the seller’s language.
- The tests now need a free MxMob account: sign up once with Google or email and every test, checker and finder stays free.
- Every test page now explains Live Remote Inspection: watch a used phone or laptop tested live by the seller before you pay.
- The sign-up card, the sign-in window and the Live Remote Inspection banner now speak every site language, and the banner also appears on the buying guides, battery pages and blog.
- New page: our other projects, the other sites made by the person who runs MxMob.
- New guide: webcam and mic test online, with fixes for a black webcam or a silent mic on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android, tests for all three iPhone microphones, and Zoom, Teams and Google Meet checks.
- The FAQ now answers common webcam and microphone questions.
- New guide: how to test laptop hardware on Windows, MacBook and Chromebook, with the built-in Dell, HP, Lenovo and Apple diagnostics, battery, SSD and RAM checks, and real screenshots of the laptop test.
- New guide: how to test a used phone before buying online, with real screenshots of a Live Remote Inspection from both the buyer’s and the seller’s side.
- Rewrote the docs: every tool in one place, browser support for iPhone, Samsung and Pixel, a full Live Remote Inspection guide and troubleshooting.
- The FAQ now covers buying a phone online, remote inspection and laptop tests.
- Fixed the IMEI in the sample inspection record, which didn’t pass its own check digit.
- New guides: how to check if a phone is stolen with the IMEI in the US, UK, India, Pakistan and Europe, and how to tell an original phone from a fake. The Samsung guide now explains why *#0*# sometimes does nothing.
- New FAQ page answering the most common questions about testing, battery, charging and used phones, with links to the right test for each.
- Each report link comes with ready-to-paste listing text and a badge image with a QR code, for eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Swappa, Gumtree, Kleinanzeigen, OLX and others. Links you created can be managed again after you reload the page.
- New: sell your phone with a test report, and check a seller’s report for buyers.
- The used phone checklist now gives the stolen-phone check, network lock and payment advice for the US, UK, Europe or India.
- New guide: buying a used phone in India, with the free Sanchar Saathi IMEI check. Also in Hindi.
- New: ghost touch test. Put the phone down and it logs every touch the screen reports while nobody is touching it.
- New: stuck pixel fixer, with a box you move over the pixel, a timer and a photosensitivity warning.
- New: backlight bleed test for LCD laptops, monitors and phones, and a gamepad tester with a stick drift reading.
- The headphone test now plays tones in the left ear only, the right ear only, or both.
- Sellers can turn a finished diagnostic into a report link with a QR code to send to buyers. The link shows which results were measured and which were marked by hand, and expires after 30 days.
- Six new guides, from dead vs stuck pixels to laptop keys that stop working.
- Rewrote How MxMob works to say plainly which tests are measured, which are guided, and which depend on the browser.
- Removed three long reference manuals and replaced them with shorter, practical guides.
- Removed ads from full-screen and rapid-tap tests such as the touch, screen color and click speed tests.
- Amazon product suggestions are shown only to visitors in the US, where the links work.
- The diagnostic names the exact iPhone, iPad or Mac model where the browser allows it, and shows the graphics chip.
- Fixed the iPhone microphone and GPS tests during Test all.
- Added the “Was this report right?” feedback box at the end of the diagnostic.
- New: laptop diagnostic with keyboard, mouse and trackpad and webcam tests.
- New: built-in diagnostics guides for 12 brands, plus refresh rate, screen resolution and click speed tests.
- New: processor and graphics test and a Widevine DRM check. Tests a device can’t run are hidden instead of counted as failures.
- Real download and upload speed test on the Wi-Fi and mobile data pages.
- Rebuilt the charger checker with a current phone catalog.
