How this test works
This tool plays a standard test tone (A4 note, 440Hz). Because web browsers have privacy restrictions, they cannot definitively tell if the audio is successfully routing to your physical headphones. Therefore, we rely on your manual confirmation to verify if the sound successfully played through the headphones instead of the main speaker. We also attempt to read available audio output devices to give you more context about what your browser sees.

Why are my wired headphones not working on my phone?
Check that the plug is fully inserted and not blocked by a case, clean lint from the jack or USB-C port, and disconnect any Bluetooth audio devices, which take priority. Try another pair of headphones to find out whether the phone or the headphones are at fault.
Do USB-C headphone adapters work with every phone?
Not always. Adapters with a built-in DAC work with nearly all USB-C phones, including iPhone 15 and newer and Google Pixel. Cheap passive adapters only work with phones that send analog audio through the USB-C port, so look for "DAC" in the product listing.
Why does audio only play in one ear?
